6 yards is the equivalent of 18 feet as there are 3 feet in one yard. As there are 12 inches in 1 foot you have 216 inches in 6 yards of rope.
You wish to cut off 16 feet and 3 inches or 195 inches total. Therefore 216 - 195 = 21 inches or as another answerer stated 1 foot 9 inches.

A yard is 3 feet. So 6 yards times 3 equals 18 feet. There are 12 inches in each foot, so if you subtract 3 inches from 12 you are left with 9 inches.

Change the dimensions to inches.6 yards = 18 feet. 18X12=216 inches. 16X12=192+3inches total 195 inches. 216-195=21 inches
subtract 12inches from 21 - 9 inches so you will have 1foot and 9 inches.
