I just bought a new softball glove and I'm not really sure what to do with the hole by the index finger... should i stick my finger through the hole or keep my finger inside the glove... why or why not?

I personally think it's whatever is comfortable for you.

There's no right or wrong way to wear it. Try using the index hole and see if it gives you a better feel and control. The glove should act like an extension of your hand, but never too tight that your fingers can't breathe.

i personally think that it's more comfortable with my index finger on the outside rather than inside...but it's just a matter of preference...it doesn't really make much of a difference

On the inside, it keeps it protected from being hit or jammed.
On the outside, it's easier for some people to close it.
Whatever is most comfortable for you, it's pretty much the same.

i keep my finger inside because it is more comfortable for me. i also have been hit there many times when fielding the ball so i would suggest keeping it inside. But if outside is more comfortable for you then do that. :)
