Both of these stats are available for pitchers, but I can't think of any way that they'd be different. You get 1/3 inning pitched for each out.

The only difference in these stats will be the number you get. If you don't want to deal with fractions just use outs. Unless Yahoo does not use fractions for IP will the stats be different. Hopefully that answers your question.

I dont think they want you to choose both, but it would require more code on the select stats page to make it unselect one if you select the other. Its more of a preference if you want fractions or whole numbers.

They are the same. 3 outs = 1 inning pitched
