Hawaii and Alaska are part of the Union, meaning that each one is part of the 50 states. IT IS NOT OCCUPIED TERRITORY BY ANY MEANS.
Alaska was bought from the Russians. Hawaii soon followed. All this happened sometime in the 19th century.

What about Puerto Rico and Guam? What about the whole Continental USA? We should definitely leave Iraq and not seek further expansion. As for naming states, where do you stop? What countries do Americans go back to? What about the fact that almost all Americans are ethnically mixed? Would I have to leave the areas occupied by whites because of my European ancestors? Or would i get to stay where i want because of my Native American ancestors? What year does occupation have to start to be illegal? How long should we exist as one country and one united American people before we stop hating other Americans for having different histories? How much of American territory really was once occupied territory and is now part of one USA? Iraq was a mistake and the war must end and it will end with Bush and his policies having been proven complete failures. Bush is a failure. The American people are not a failure and our diversity is our strength.

U.S. isnt in Iraq to take over...just to help get an up an running government set up so that there wont be another Sadam. A man that poisioned and killed THOUSANDS of his own people trying to exterminate kurds from iraq. Im not too sure which is better a crappy government that is just getting started or wondering if my city was going to be the next city that nerve agents were tested on civillians. This quote was taken fom my source website "Iraqi government troops would be surrounding the attack site and they would have chem-bio suits on...included would be doctors and interested observers...they would go in and find out how many people were dead...and how many survived. What ages ...did men, women or children or the elderly suffer more? From there they would shoot the survivors and burn the bodies... "

Read the history books...
Alaska was rightfully Purchased by America from Russia. Hawaii i am not quite sure how we got.
Iraq is not part of some empire. Get a job, get a life, read the history book. AMERICA SIGNED A TREATY LIMITING HER SIZE AND THEREFORE SHE CANT GROW,
i dont think iraq has anything to do with oil or anything to do with some Imperial crackpot theory. I will say i am not sure why we are there and i dont approve of the action but we are there and life goes on.

Wrong... Hawaii and Alaska are legal states. I bet if you took a vote about 99% would say they are with the Union. It would be nice if Iraq (not Irac) would vote and become a part of the Union so it would give us more reason to stay. As of now we are there because the Iraqi government has requested us there...

Alaska and Hawaii are proud members of this great union of states. Iraq will soon be able to defend itself, unless the Democrats get their way, and we will leave immediately.

Freedom is NEVER given, only taken. Alaska and Hawaii know this, and the sooner Iraq figures it out the sooner we can get our soldiers out of that hell-hole.

You are the microcosm of today's liberal Democrat. A, you don't recognize defeat when you want it. You can't deny they want defeat. They want surrender. They own it. That's exactly what this is about. It's so bad that the Democrats cannot afford victory to take place. But beyond that, you know what's really shameful to me and what is truly, truly disappointing is that you, an American, do not think victory is possible in this for the United States of America. If you don't think victory is possible, there's one opposite to victory, and that's defeat.
You think we can only lose. You want us to lose. You're telling yourself, you got your brain all tied in knots telling yourself, "No, no, no. This is not about defeat, not about surrender. We can't win. This is about securing Bush's legacy," and so forth. You think anything other than victory is going to secure any kind of a decent legacy for George W. Bush, given who writes legacies these days and who writes the history? You and people like you are truly frightening and sad and disappointing, and I feel sorry for you. When I actually stop to think that there are Americans like you, I get depressed, because you do not represent the traditions and the ideals and the institutions that have defined this country's greatness.
If you keep propagating (and you won't because of abortion) and you keep making more and more of you people who think the way you do, our country and the way it's always been and its future is threatened. If you people get your hands in total control of this country -- and you have yourselves convinced that we don't face an enemy, that we're at war with the enemy, that the enemy is only the enemy because we've made them mad -- we are truly in deep doo-doo. I go through this mixture of emotions of feeling sorry for people like you because you sound otherwise intelligent. You can speak and you can do so grammatically correctly, so it seems to me you ought to be able to figure things out, but you're so warped out there that it's frightening and saddens me. It's just very sad, at the same time.
