First of all you are really only paying for the extra hard disk space. The Elite (Zephyr) Will not have the 65 nm processor - It will not have the Wifi (unless you purchase the extra equipment)
It will not have the The hddvd player it will still have to be purchased seperately.
The current xbox 360 has the 1080p update so graphically.. eh
Use your money to save for a car or something... the Elite is just the production of what they had planned the original xbox to be marketed as if they didn't release so soon.
MicroSoft needs to develop some momentum and re -energize their loyal fans---
What they need to do is cut their loyal fans some slack and give some freebees like the hddvd and wireless... Or at least free xbox live for just being owners.
P.S. We still don't know if they fixed the ring of death issues they have had with some of the 360 models.
GEARS of WAR is the best

Well first of all the Elite will come with 120 GB for the hard drive. An HDMI cable and in black. It looks to me that Microsoft has upgraded the system due to some criticism from people that it doesn't play HD DVD's. I mean a regular Xbox 360 with a 20GB hard drive now is $399, and the Elite is going to be for $ 480, you will be able to play HD DVD, Full surround sound AND 120 GB. Not to mention the nice black color just makes it look bad a $$. If I could sell my system for even $350 and buy the Elite I would for the extras. The hard drive alone costs about one hundred, but I'm looking at it from a new counsel. point of view. Its a personal decision but it does have some sweet upgrades.
P.S. Gears of War is the one I like better for the aw some graphics and game play. Its a game that just sucks you into it that you can literally play for hours! Hope I was useful to your decision.

It really depends on what type of gamer you are. The main addition to the new Xbox 360 model is the HDMI output which is great if you have an HDTV because it's supposedly going to look better. It features an added 100GB to the hard-drive (total of 120GB) and this is excellent if you download many HD movies or tons of Xbox Live Arcade games but otherwise, it's not that useful. The Xbox 360 uses little space to store save games, unlike the PS3. It is also supposed to feature the new model of the DVD drive which increases load times and is somewhat quieter but that is a minor difference that many people will not notice.
I've never played Rainbow 6 Vegas but I have played Gears of War and that game is just frickin' sweet.

As a personal preference, I'd go with Gears of War.
Now, to your question. I say that you should just keep your original 360. Is that extra space really worth it? Do you need it? Does your console HAVE to be black? Do you need that HDMI cable? If you said "yes" to all of those, ignore me and go get the Elite. If you said "no", then stick with your current system.
And get a Wii.

Dude it has 120GB of storage 6x the normal amount. Plus it will be coming out after your birthday (April 27th I believe). And it has several perks just go to this web site: http://biz.gamedaily.com/industry/feature/?id=15617
So you should totally get it.
P.S. It's just personal preference but I like Gears of War over Rainbow 6 Vegas

i would just keep the one you have and but the hard drive it cost 99-100 dollar. if you trade your in you'll only get about 300 for it and you'll have to spend more for the elite in the long run. i would go for the new hard drive thats what i did and i saved $90

i would get it if i could, but it depends on if you think the black is really worth the extra $100(its $200, but the hard-drive is $100 so the color is also that much)
And defintely Gears of War!!!

the xbox has so much memory to it you will probably never need more. and you can get you xbox 360 professionally colored black anyway.
