I am truely puzzled as to why so many things went wrong in the movie. I saw the movie before I read the books and thought it was awesome then, but now it seems ridiculus. I'm not sure how they can even make Eldest now. Or how will the make it make sense? any one else feel the same?

yeah. they completely ruined it compared to the book. they took out things that were esential to the story of eldest. i almost wish they dont make eldest so that i dont have to see how bad they butcher it.

The book was soooo much better. They should have made the movie longer than an hour and a half, they cut way too much out. There were lots of little "oops" things that kinda degraded it too...I don't know if anyone else noticed, but (and forgive me for being vague haven't see it in a while) after Saphira and Eragon entered the cave, while they are preparing for battle, Saphira is made a set of armor and they show it hanging on a stand. It's all ornate and very beautiful, but when they actually show her wearing it in battle, it's a completely different set. There was a bunch of little things like that that I noticed. I haven't read eldest yet, so I can't really say how I think the movie is going to go.

Everyone who read the book and saw the movie will say the same thing. The movie did not follow the book at all! I know that when they make movies it's not their job to cater to the readers, but come on! There are so many things that were never in the book, or were left out completely. For instance, Eragon has brown hair, Brom has a long grey beard, Arya has black hair, Saphira does NOT have feathers on her wings, Urgals are supposed to have horns, the Ra'zaac are supposed to have birdlike features, the "flying hellbeast thing" that Durza rides in the movie never happens, Solembum the werecat?? Also, Angela should be old, and she has way more parts in the book. Oh, and not to mention the way that brom dies... what the heck? Anyway, I'm and angry bookworm ranting away, but if you don't want to ruin it for yourself do one or the other, not both (read or watch), because it's disappointing.

Books are always better because a movie is limited to certain things and take out alot of things or change it. A great example of this would be the Harry Potter movies and the movies. They change it way too much and do things that completely change the characters.

Absolutely. I have to admit that I've read the book a few times and yes, the movie really sucked. They took out some of my favorite parts and didn't even have that mountain thing which i thought could have been really cool. Grr.

The movie insulted me and should have insulted Chris Paulini...since they screwed Eragon, now Eldest is screwed too.

"the book was better" is what my friend thinks. I haven't read the book or seen the movie, though.
