people who are negative have low self esteem about themselves
so dont argue with them its hard not too but if you want results try it otherwise they have more negativly to say
another thing the negatively is signs of how they are feeling
try to show comfort
normally a person who says they dont care they do
like i said low self esteem they need love and affection
its basically how they are i know because i am one

That is a good question. Those negative ones can sure be a pain in the .. Anyway, that attitude takes some work. May not work but here is the strategy. First your friend has to acknowledge their negativity. If this is accomplished then they have to be willing to be lovingly corrected each time they express a negative thought. Course you need to praise them when positive expression come out of their mouth. Eventually the positive will replace the negative and you two can skip on to a beautiful friendship.

Show her/him a fun time. A time you can laugh about and show her/him not every thing in life sucks. there are good sides. Life is short and you have to enjoy the good times to make it count. And be shure to tell him/her how great they are and all the great things about them. If your positive and he/she hangs around you enough then they should come around.

Tell them to spend a month in Iraq.

Trust me. They'll be SO happy they are living where they are now.
