Supposedly you can record voices from ghosts, spirits, or whatever, in a common voice recorder. Where I live, there is an abandoned hospital that is haunted and that strange sounds like falling glassware, doors closing, people shouting, etc, have been heard and I heard them once (it is really scary to hear those things). I want to go back and see if I can record some of these ghosts, what type of recorder do you need and how are you supposed to use it or place it?

White noise is basically static. And if you have a radio, static is not hard to find: just tune it to someplace where nothing is being broadcast.

Of course, most ghost-chasers then take those recordings and use a lot of processing to filter out that white noise again and better hear whatever other sounds are going on. But I'm told that sometimes you don't even need to do this much.

Link below with some tips and the like. Good luck!

You are confusing EVP with something from Hollywood. To do EVP get yourself a digital tape recorder, the kind that will only record when it hears a voice. Go to the location you wish to record, and ask a question. When you ask something the light on the recorder will stay lit up because of your voice, after you are done it may stay lit up because someone is answering you. Do this several times with several different questions. Don't say anything negative, and it should be ok.

Then connect the digital recorder to your computer and listen to what you recorded. I would suggest that you don't keep "rewinding" while you are doing your EVP session, it takes to much time and often times the "spirits" get bored and leave. So always do it when you are at home and away from where you were doing the EVP.

It's not white noise. White noise is just static, or the sound of surf. Any good quality tape recorder should pick EVP's up. But you need to turn the volume up to hear anything. Also, ask questions on tape so you can mark where and when you picked up the phenomenon.

My understanding of white noise is dead silence, you record it in a vacuum. as for ghost, just leave the recorder running and then you start running. Good luck

just use any type of recoder with a blank cassette (make sure you never use that cassette before), place it at the most haunted room such as emergency room or operation theatre or maybe at the 3rd floor and the 3rd room at sharp 3 o'clock in the morning. make sure you brought your friend with you or else , you never get out from there safely....boooooo
