I used safe mode, but now I can't change the display to more than 640 x 480 and Lowest (4 bit) color. I installed the drivers that Dell put onto their Dimension 2350 website, but that did not fix the problem either. Suggestions?

Given you have the correct drivers they need to be installed in normal Windows operation (not safe mode).

Once that's done the PC will ask to reboot & then Display properties will allow you to choose a higher resolution.

Safe mode will only work in that scheeme. It will not load your graphics driver or any other driver for that matter except network drivers if you choose to boot in safe mode with network support. If the display is not normal when booting into windows normally open your start menu and right click on my computer and from the context menu select "manage" this will bring up the managment console. click on device manager on the left side. In the list look for Display adapters click on the plus next to it this should show you your display adapter. right clcik on it and select "uninstall" from the context menu. A verification window will appear confirming the uninstall of this device click on "yes" or "OK" once this is done restart your computer. When windows starts up again you will notice a found new hardware notification by the clock and your card should reinstall itself. If not the found new hardware wizard will appear select yes to allow it to search the internet if internet connection is available otherwise not this time. click next then click the option that says install software automatically then click next. The driver is now installing when finished click finish. You may recive a message saying "windows has finished installing your hardware you may need to restart for changes to take effect" If so go ahead and restart. Upon restart you should be back to normal. Good Luck
