race = human, for all of us.
varying ethnicities may have commonalities (skin color, culture, etc), but those differences are less important than treating each other kndly, and with respect.

Most anthropologists believe that modern races have a common origin, but we lack the necessary data to prove this theory. However, we find that at the threshold of the history that we know of, the human race is divided into the caucasoid, the ******* and the mongoloid (not the medical abnormality). This division is easy since it was made simply on the basis of skin color, hair quality and a few other characteristics. But it is impossible to define with accuracy the idea of "race" or "blood". If we assume that man has lived on this earth thousands of years ago, it seems rash to talk about races, mixed races and the purity of races. We know that there has been lots of intermingling at all the periods, so that today peoples are so mixed that we can unravel only a tiny part of the racial snarl. we know so little about the racial characteristics of our ancestors that it is wise not to entertain unscientific notions about race or blood. The pure race no longer exist. Today, the issue of race is political, that is, politics masquerading as science and has generally resulted to hate crimes. These are mainly due to misguided approach to interpersonal relationships, misinformation, the I'll-get-you-before-you-get-me attitude, the painful social forces and short-sighted fear for economic weaknesses like draining the country's resources etc. Growing up, we were always taught that we will be judged by how we treat others and if we are collectively to be judged we treat others. Each of us must make a choice. We all have to give a little to get a little. We must be open to the idea that there is no absolute freedom for it creates chaos, there can only be rational and reasonable freedom. We are responsible for our actions and we must learn to share to achieve an environment of tolerance, of togetherness, of mutual respect among the "races".

There are two opposing view on race.
The first is that race is merely a concept developed in the 19th century, and which doesn't describe anything real. it is just a tool for ensuring that Anglo-Saxons have the moral right to subjugate others.
The second argument is that races are truly different, and that although it is hard to sometimes tell where one race begins and another ends (are Indians part of the same race as Europeans?, eg) this does not mean that there arent different races, with different physiques and character traits.
The matter is all confused further because it is hard to see which traits are might be racial and which cultural, apart from physical characteristics.
In my own observation, people of different races can mix happily, but there are more often tensions, and it is best, therefore, if at all possible, if different groups have their own spaces.

Race is an identity created by society that tries to identify itself or upraise itself from other societies based on heritage. Which once was a family as it multiplies through ages becomes a huge crowd. To satisfy the internal eagerness of humans to be localized in a group and hence claim to be better than others they form ethnicties.
Again through time based on natural and environmental factors certain ethnicities or a group of them develop a unique physical attribute. Thsi can be manifested in color, height, structure and so on.
This deviation of a human race from one another merely by natural causes forms a solid base upon which humans feed their lust for superiority over their own once used to be family.
