Problem creating a new line of text - Java?

I know that I just asked this question 3 houres ago, but I know that after 3 houres, nothing gets answered. so I am asking in again...

how come this code ...
g.drawString("Go to www.sticksnap.com.. \n" + "new line",x,y);

doesn't generate a new line

try taking the + out...

"Go to... \n new line" and see what happens, guessing it doesn't like the concatenation in there maybe?
