I don't believe in a divine universe anything is flawed. It may seem flawed because our actions could possibly destroy us, but that's human thinking. When looking at it from the universe's perspective is anything actually wrong? Do we get upset we bacteria eat one another? What if the entire rotten piece of fruit burns up in the noonday sun and all the bacteria die? Does it trouble you? It's that type of perfection. If we were all created from the same source then there could be no seperation. If there is no seperation then how could the dying or injuring of our cells ruin us. How can the dying or injurying of the world ruin the universe. As long as the source is there, we'll always be there in some respect, and that's the perfection of the universe. As human beings we can strive to change and perfect, but really if it happens it's because we have the diversity and freedom and creativity of ability in this seemingly limitless universe to do it. And that in itself is completely amazing, awe inspiringly beautiful. Why focus on negative aspects in such a case? In a field of roses, you only manage to see the manure they're using for fertilizer. Perhaps a change of perspective would cure this

Mankind's greatest flaw is the ability to flaw. It is human nature to make mistakes. This is the only reason that traits such as ignorance and consequences exist.

I think it is a corrupt heart.
No matter how good you are, you would be surprised at how far you would degenerate with the right buttons being pushed. We have no idea individually just how low we could be. I have watched old women considered saints to fall below the standards of a dog. I have seen dogs behave better than men and women of high standards.
I have learnt that you, and I , and every single sentient human being on this blue jewel of a planet has a corrupt heart.
That my friend is our greatest flaw.
Every one of a righteous mind try very hard to stay above that vile state. Every day billions succeed. Every day millions upon millions fail. Every day those multi-million failures get back up on their feet again to try to stay above that vile state. We do it with our conscience hurt, but still we do it. We carry on and try to do better.
There is a minority of us who do not care where their heart lays. As long as they are fed with what they want, and the hell with the rest of us. These are the ones whose corrupt hearts reflect mankind's greatest flaw.

Pride is mankind's greatest flaw. To error is human. To forgive is divine. People that are afraid to live their lives only cheat themselves out of what they could be. Lead, follow or get the heck out of the way.

I don't believe mankind has a 'greatest flaw' but rather a calvocade of smaller flaws that now sadly are ruining this planet and it's people.

While I applaud your own answer, it begs the question 'What are the consequences? Over what time period should they be evaluated, and with what ends in mind?'.

I was going to suggest "A belief in 'perfection' as a noun, as distinct from a verb." But then again, that would beg the question "Can we come up with an even greater one?"

Let us hope so!

Substituting religion for morality. It's easier to ignore true consequences if you believe God authorizes abuses. Most of the wars and massive immorality today is in the name of religion.

I believe the biggest flaw of man is the ability to think. What most people do not seem to realize, is that every single one of us has the ability to use such vast expanses of our mind. No one ever takes the time to think of what they are doing, until long after it is done.
