My period has been so funky this month. I never ever get cramps and had the worst cramps ever two days ago. I couldnt walk and was in so much pain I was curled up in a ball during my lunch period. I drank alot of water and felt better. My period has been late this month. I usually get it every month around the same time. Im not sexually active. I got my period this morning and its extremly light. Im not bleeding enough to use a tampon and had to use a pad. I didnt even bleed much all day. What the heck could be going on?

I started my period when I was 11 and my periods were the worst! Terrible cramps! Heavy bleeding for 7-10days... curled up in a ball with a heating pad crying about how bad it hurt. When I was 18 I had a miscarriage and after that my periods weren't as bad. After I gave birth to my son when I was 20 my periods were even better. I cramped some but not at all near what it was before and they only lasted up to 4 days and they weren't even heavy then. I only had a period after the birth of my son (age 20) for four months before I became pregnant again. I had periods after my daughter was born (age 21) that were still mild. I ended up having a hysterectomy when I was 22 and have been period free for 6 yrs!!! I AM NOT trying to tell you to get pregnant, by any means, but I am telling you that as time goes by your period will go through stages of heavy, light, bad cramps, light cramps, etc. I think you are ok. But I do feel your pain... Shewweee!! I spent a fortune on Midol and Pamprin! Lol!

Might want to ask a doctor. I barely bleed during the first day of my period. I think it is called spotting. it is like a little warning sign that your period is coming. A lot of things can throw off your period. Increased physical activity, weather, dehydration, etc. This cal all make you late. Also, I had a friend who would get such bad cramps that she once had to go home from school because she was in so much pain. Periods are weird things.

I started mine at 12 and didn't experience true cramps until I was 17, so it's prolly normal. Thing is, because you've never cramped before there is a chance it as your bowels cramping or something else. Have you recently done something to screw with your hormones, like birth control? Depo was what kicked me into cramphood, but there are a lot of things that can screw up your cycle like that.
You should at least call your doc and check, maybe even go get a pelvic exam if things get bad *i know, the first time is awkward, as are every time following.* Good luck.

Aberrant growth of endometrium outside the uterus, particularly in the dependent parts of the pelvis and in the ovaries is a common cause of abnormal bleeding and secondary dysmenorrhea. This condition is known as endomytriosis. Its causes, pathogenesis and natural course are poorly understood. A woman presenting with rectal pain and bleeding, aching pain that tends to be constant beginning 2 to 7 days before the onset of menses, and becomes increasingly sever until the flow slackens, should consult a gynecologist as soon as possible.
I'm a guy, sorry about that.

No need to worry! If you just started having your period, it's only your body adjusting to the change. Infact, i would say you are damn lucky. When i was experiencing this change, i couldn't get out of my house, as i was bleeding heavily! If you are really not sexually active, you have no need to worry. But to understand and adjust to this change more, it would be advisable to see a doctor.
