Just enough to keep it running.

It's your brothers so i know you want to take care of it. But don't spend money HOOKING IT UP, especially if you will return it in 6 Months.
Some of the mods may not be to his liking. Just get an oil change to ensure it's lubed and ask him if their are any problems with the car. If their are see if he is willing to work out a deal with you. But remember in the end, you will be giving the car back.

Best of luck.

If you're borrowing it why would you spend money on it? Its not yours anyways and in the end you're not gonna be the one driving it. Just thank him for letting you borrow it and drive it as is. Spending money on it, except for maintenance, is foolish.

i don't think you should put any money in. not unless something need to replace. that car is good for about 200k miles... so you should have about 60k to go... good luck
