They can't be deemed "innapropriate" if they were to be checked by a teacher. (As in, no "Animals" by Nickelback) It's something that has to be something I could work with - as in, right a detailed report on the use of metaphors and similes in it.

you can find some similes and metaphors in so many switchfoot songs. search them on any lyric site and skim through the lyrics. you'll definitely find quite a few.
