Please try this first. Open the computer case and pull each of the cables inside ONE BY ONE and re-seat each one so you won't be confused as to where they go. Sometimes these cables get loose as a result of heating/cooling. If your comp cant read the boot drive whether it is floppy disk, cd rom, or the hard drive, this may in itself fix the problem. Oh, pull and re-seat the battery while your at it. If this doesn't fix the problem then re-start the comp and go into the bios to check the boot sequence. Place the hard drive as your first boot device. (you will need to change this back to cd-rom later to install your back up disks). Try re-starting the comp again and if it fails after all of this then it is very possible that you have a hard drive crash. If this is the case, you can replace it with a new hard drive then run your disks using your back ups. If you don't understand this process, I would then suggest a good pc repair shop to check it out. Try those cables first though. This might be the only problem. I have seen it a hundred times before. Best Of Luck!

It means that it can't boot from the selected device. Verify the device boot order in the BIOS and change as necessary. Check the SMART status of your hard disk drive to determine hardware failure, and replace as required.
