i have questions about fingernails?

my fingernails grow like weeds but im supposed to keep them short for orchestra. i hate clipping them and i have recently started biting them back so far that they bleed or hurt really bad. i cant grow them past my fingertips or i will get an F. what can i do. clipping them makes me cringe much like fingernails on a chalk board.

Simply file them down to the desired length.

ok you should get a nail file and file them down. but dont bite them because there's bacteria under everyone's fingernails.
