You'll have to get the phone unlocked, and chances are, you can't. You have to get an unlock code from cingular, since they have combined with AT&T. They are trying to get rid of all the old AT&T phones, so chances are they aren't going to give the code to you...If you're lucky, there may be software you can buy on the internet that, with a data cable, you can do it yourself. there's always the chance that the phone will become useless if you do, however. Just get a cingular prepaid- they start at 20 bucks.

You need to get an unlocked phone, not one that has a phone company logo on it (unless it is cingular). You may be able to call cingular and ask though because AT&T and cingular have merged, so they may tell you the code...not sure...I always just buy unlocked phones...Europe and the Middle East have better cell phones anyway.
