Die Welt, from Germany, got to the conclusion that Spain would overtake Germany's GDP per capita by 2011- Do you think it's true?

Germany's recent performance has been weak, though it still is Europe's largest economy. Do you think Germany will recover and still lead in Europe, or do you think Germany will still go lower than how it is?

Remember Spain was the ugly duck of Europe before the EU formed... at least economically speaking. But it did a wonderful job of sticking to the plans layed out for them to kick start their economy and become more equal to France and Germany. They are still not there, and i don´t think they will surpass Germany in 4 -5 years. They have done much better because they have been doing the right things. And they shortened the economical gap with Germany simply because of traditional growth theory. The smaller economy tends to grow at a higher rate than a bigger economy, closing the gap.

Germany will rebound. They always do.

Germany is on the way out. Socialism in embedded to the point of no return there, taxes are outrageous leaving little incentive to work (for long). I lived there for 4 years and saw the apathy the people had about there system and their citizens. Bad stuff thanks to the war on the individual, socialism.
