Now that is an interesting angle to a race that has so many possible third-party contenders (former Sen. Thompson, Mayor Bloomberg, etc.).
If Sen. Clinton is the candidate for the Dems, Gore may get into the race due to the animosity from his years as V-P and it spilling over in the 2000 race. Gore would position his stances to the left of Clinton and have at least a small chance on getting on the ballot in most states.
But, as happens in third-party runs, the numbers look good up until the closing weeks of the campaign and then most voters will pick between the Dem. or Rep. so their votes will actually "mean something" in the race.
Gore would draw voters who would not vote for either parties nominee and nominal Dems who are in search of an alternative candidate. His final numbers would not doom the Dems and mean a Rep. would capture the White House.

First of all Gore is a joke. He's a buffoon who worships at the altar of the doomed. He wants the USA to radically change our way of living while he continues to fly in a private jet, ride in limos, and contributes more to pollution than any 10-20 Americans.
He won't take votes away from anybody because only the very stupid will vote for him, and not enough to matter.

Probably.
Perot cost George Bush (the Elder) his reelection.
Nader definately had to put a dent in Gore's numbers during the 2000 election.

al gore can run.
ross perot can run
ralph nader can run
pat paulsen can run
MEL GIBSON CAN RUN
and their ain't no way, no how , never gonna happen again, be a REPUBLICAN in the White House.
you bushbots can rationalize all you want to, but you had the ball, you dropped the ball, and their will be mass suicides(?) in this country if another one of your greedy selfish buttlicking retards even gets close to that office.
after Bush, the real Patriots of this country are going to send you all packing to Mexico, to replace all the illegals you've allowed in this country. then we're going to build a BIG fence.
(and give the illegals your job. and house. and life.)
wake up America. Patriotism is not dead.

Yes, it would. Which is why he's not really thinking about running as a Green Party candidate.

Only if everyone quits listening to pole numbers.
everyone is classically conditioned to not vote for 3rd party.
because they never win.
