Wearing high heels throws your body forward and therefore you are thrown off balance.
You are compromising your spine and hips.
To wear them ocassionally is fine but to wear them 5 days a week 8hrs aday, you are doing damage that will show up at it's worst in the years to come.
Most high heels are also very narrow across the toes and can compromise their condition as well. . . .bunions resulting and should you get arthritis in years later, you could end up with hammer toes more easily.
Wearing high heels also compromises your Achille's Tendon. . . the tendon at the back of your ankle.
Wearing heels can shorten that tendon and though it can be lengthened later,it would be a lengthy and painful process. . . . I have a friend who has worn heels for sooo long, wearing house shoes or tennis shoes are not an option for her today unless she has some surgical intervention on her Achille's Tendon.
Like I say,to wear them ocassionally is okay but watch making it a habit.

It can be bad for your calf muscles and some of your bones, but its fine to wear them sometimes. The danger is more for people who wear high heels all the time.
It's just fine to wear them a couple days a week, especially if you exercise and stretch out your calf muscles.
