YES, I was so nervous starting a new job, Ilocked my self out of the house in the rain, so not only was I over an hour late, I had to leave my house with a busted lock on the front door, and I was a mess from the rain and i was crying.I knew I was going to be fired!!!
My boss thought it was funny and the next day she bought me a new lock for my door.
Great person to work for.

I was once. I started working in Seattle and it's an hour and a half drive from where I live. I thought taking the fee way was a good Idea. I was stuck on i90 for over two hours. There was a wreck or something. I was so mad and it was in the summer. I was 2.5 hours late for work.

It's happened at the last two jobs. Job before last I had a battery that was almost dead, so I called and told them I would be there as soon as possible and put it on the battery charger for a while(took the charger with me just in case) and at my last job I went to get in my car to go to work and realizd I had a flat tire. Boy I hope I'm not jinxing myself, I start a new job Monday.

Nope. I always try to get to work early and my boss doesn't mind if you are a little late as long as you make up for the time.

Never, but I've had plenty of people who worked for me who did that. If someone was late their first day, it was very likely they would be late the remainder of their employment - to me it's intolerable.

The dog ate my keys...
No, I tried to be on time for my work. Although there was a period when my mom was dying that I was a total mess and was late quite a bit. I got in a bit of trouble for it and had to reassess my priorities. I made it through the storm, but it wasn't fun for awhile.

Yes, and it was raining and traffic was bad. Miscalulated the time. Another time I missed the actual first day of work because was sick and he was a toddler at the time.
