The person I am today is a person that I am proud to be, I have grown and learned alot in my life so far. I have gained experience and life skills through out my life. I feel confident to be a leader and feel I have good leadership skills. I think a good leader takes control in a non forceful way its all about confidence and knowing what has to be done, how and when and putting this into action. I have many other skills and then just talk about what skills you know and how you put them into action also your character u can just say how your character is a gentle person but strong and ambitious n say why i did an essay like that 5 years ago n scored with flyin colours!!

Intro 1:
I just started ballroom dancing two weeks ago.
And very much like Richard Gere in "Shall we Dance", I wear more mascara than J-Lo. My friends call me K cuz I dance OK. Yet, my instructor keeps telling me that unless I learn how to lead in the valse, she'll never follow.
It got me to thinking of what is leadership and what are the qualities that make a good leader on the dance floor of life?
Well I won't tango around the subject any longer, here are my thoughts :)

intro 2:
Dwight Eisenhower said that "Leadership is the art of getting someone else to do something you want done because he wants to do it."
Since this paper is on leadership, I thought it would be a funny twist if I could somehow apply these words of wisdom and have someone else write the essay for me. After giving it some thought, it occured to me that Yahoo! Answers provides the ideal platform for such an experiment.
This free resource allows me to delegate the task to a very large pool of people willing to help. I simply submit the question and others do the work in my stead. In fact, what you are reading now was not penned by me but by a user named Penelopium whom I never met and know nothing of. She suggested this introduction which I found both amusing and perfect as an illustration of the advantages of delegation.
But was my initiative a text-book example of leadership or was it more akin to a savvy use of the internet?
What follows henceforth are my personal thoughts on leadership, on its nature and on the qualities needed to be at the helm of things.

LOL, use this one! I'm sure your teacher will appreciate the cheekiness of it :) ciao and good luck!

Introductions are always difficult, I still have some trouble with them and i'm studying for a degree!

Anyways, you need to think of it yourself. It's all well and good having somebody write it for you but then you won't have gained anything from it. If you think of it yourself and get a great mark then you'll be happier that all of the credit for that grade goes to you.

Plan what you want to put into the essay and what order you want it all to be in and i'm sure you'll figure out a pretty good introduction.

The key is to write a strong and "catchy" personal statement.

A person statement is made up of three things in a one-page sigle-spaced essay:

First, begin with a personal narrative (a short biographical story) that tells something about you...a learning experience, a trip you took, or some other tale that lets them know about you without actually TELLING them (**this is the key) - don't TELL your reader about yourself...SHOW him/her through a story of your experience. It seems funny to begin an essay with a story like, "When the young kids jumped into the pool, I knew I had my work cut out for me; I had never coached a swim team, but they didn't know that. I gave them a couple of minutes to slap water into each other's faces, then I blew my whistle and yelled to line up in the shallow end", but it catches the attention of the teacher who will read the same thing over and over. "I am smart. I love to learn. I am diverse." Boring!Pick a story that tells of a time you were a leader and helped others (service skills).

Second, list a goal or two (not what you want to do as a job, but what you want to DO with your life - careers are a means to achieve goals). Examples would be to work with kids, to travel, to be financially secure, to work with computers, to have a large family, to experiment with things, to build things, to share experiences, to teach others. Use a transition sentence like "Because of the experience with the YMCA swim team, I have decided that I want to run a small business" (or be a teacher or be a doctor...you get it)

Finally, end with how you will achieve those goals (that goal). Go to college? Get professional training? What kind of job?

This is a good template because it shows where you've been, where you want to go, and a plan to get you there (a "plan of attack" is a sign of a good leader). I'd even title the essay THE PLAN OF ATTACK: A NECESSARY ELEMENT OF A GOOD LEADER.

Depending on your character, and yourself can determine who you are. You don't have to pretend to be another, as long as you are who you're meant to be. Leadership, your personality, can show the real you. What about me? Well, these factors really describe me. Why don't I tell you a bit?
