how do I remove words and phrases that are typed into search engines like on google yahoo or MSN?

all the advice I have received clears the history in the tool bar of websites. but not in the search engine bar.

This is simple

What you want to do is delete all your history and forms.
Here is what you do:

Internet Explorer

Tools
Internet options
General Tab
Browsing History
Delete
Delete History
Delete Forms


Firefox

Tools
Clear private data
Tick the forms and history box
Click ok

All changes are made after restarting the browser
