I'm wrighting an essay and would like to know what people want more of. For example: Cars, Houses, Money... etc. I have only got a few examples and would like some more.

It's not a 100% answer because people are so different.
BUT from my 61 yrs of life and over 25yrs as a teacher the following seems correct.
About 50% want SECURITY. - a job with regular reliable pay, sick leave, holidays such as teaching, medicine etc. they also want a stable comfy spouse who will care for them what ever happens. (this is why models do not always get happily married, and why so many normal looking people do - the normal people are more likely to be comfy, caring and loving).
About 30% want ADVENTURE - cars that are too fast, a business that could succeed or make them go bankrupt, a beautiful spouse who will do surprisng things, may-be even a divorce or two but EXCITEMENT
About 10% are altruistic - they genuinely want to help the world, they do not mind what material objects they own.
Oh and 10% are idiots, they are some-times abusive to others because they ( the idiots) have never found out what they want.
For the materialistic part of your answer I believe this is the order people covet things
(1) HOUSE - to keep one safe, to be HAPPY in and to IMPRESS others (2) Wonderful things for their children - best education, best clothes, toys, and nice house etc. (3) VEHICLE to take one places, to impress others.(4) Grown-up toys ( computers, T.V. etc) for fun and to impress. (5) NICE FOOD this includes money to buy the best at home and in restaurants.

There is are things that people want more of that are not often talked about. Recognition at work ( there are studies that show people would work for less if they got recognition ). Appreciation from their spouse.
