It depends on what kind of books you like. I like teen fiction for girls so I think that I should only give you books of my expertise.
-Anything by Sarah Dessen! Every single one of her books is amazing and they aren't nessecarily short so they will last a while.

-Gossip Girl Series by Cecily von Ziegaser. Great series books. They are a very fun, quick read. I read them when I was on vacation.

-The A-list Series by Zoey Dean. Pretty good series. Similar to the Gossip Girl series.

I also love Margaret Peterson Haddix books and Scott Westerfield's trilogy the Uglies. If you need anymore, Amazon has a great section where you can find related books based on what you've looked at. Also The Lovely Bones by Alice Siebold is a great book too.

If you like classics, try Wuthering Heights, Jane Eyre, or Gone With The Wind. They're all great (though drastically different) love stories, and Wuthering Heights and Jane Eyre are relatively short. More modern teen books that I liked are A Time For Dancing by Davida Wills Hurin, Crooked by Laura McNeal and Tom McNeal, and Flowers for Algernon by Daniel Keyes. Other things I read in high school and loved (although they're not considered teen books) are The Joy Luck Club by Amy Tan, The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold, Tess of the D'Urbervilles by Thomas Hardy, Like Water for Chocolate by Laura Esquival, and anything written by James Herriot, especially All Creatures Great and Small.

Depends on what you're looking for! I'll give you my list, but consider yourself forewarned that they all have romantic undertones (at least, if not more than that).
"Twilight"
"Howl's Moving Castle"
"The Mediator" (series by Meg Cabbot)
"The Naming" (or The Gift outside of the US)
"The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants"
"Daughters of the Moon"
"Fairest"
"Abarat"
"Wolf Tower"
"A Great and Terrible Beauty"
"Sabriel"
***
I would also recommend a few classics if you're up to it:
"Pride and Prejudice"
"The Count of Monte Cristo"
"The Three Musketeers"
"The Book of Arthur"
***
I would strongly recommend that you stay as far away as you can from the "A-List" and "Clique" series, because they are horribly written, have unoriginal plots, and have absolutely no likeable characters. If you're looking for teen books, you are also presumably old enough (or the person you're buying for is) to take a look at some adult fiction, in which case, I would strongly recommend anything by Anne Patchett, Terry Pratchett, Douglas Adams, Hester Browne, Jacqueline DeJohn, or Philippa Gregory.

Go to Amazon.com and search
"Lost from Atlantis Book 1" - book 2 is coming out in the next month or two, and 3 is already written and in editing.
"Death by Murder David Lindsay" - you have to search that way for it to come up. There's a lot of sex and violence in it but it's good, not gratuitous.
and "Super Spaghetti."
They're free on Amazon's Kindle Unlimited, and you can Google how to get a free trial of that. And you can get a free Kindle app for your phone or just read them online.

Very Far Away From Anywhere Else - Ursula K. LeGuin.
It's a short book, but it will stay with you the rest of your life. I first read it at 17, and 27 years later (yikes!), I still have held onto it.
