Well he scored on his debut but will he get more chances when Owen and Crouch are back? I mean this guy could be the next Rooney only better and not too over-rated.

He will probably have to fight for a starting spot, especially since he's a newer player coming into the international scene. But he'll definitely do some good as a sub for now. I can only see great things coming from a young player like him. I know he'll benefit England everytime he steps onto the pitch.

I'm a North End fan and have seen Nugent play a lot of football. He loves the game and just wants the ball at his feet and a chance to score. I'm glad he got off the mark for England last night but I do feel for Defoe. Let both Nugent and Defoe start the next international. We'll have some determination to score and win then.

I hope so. Theres no doubt he has the quality. He is scouse after all :-) I think england should go with defoe and nugent, they looked well together last night. Defoe needs to be given his chance for england. **** that little fat **** rooney right off.

Man this guy seemed very confident when he came on...he was really good and made a couple of nice touches...he scored a goal and almost scored a second....he looks promising and i think McLaren should give him his share of opportunities....
