Slavery sucked, but the Africans werent the first ones, which everyone seems to think they were. Slavery actually goes back to the days of Christ, in which case back then if you were a slave, you didnt get anything except the necessary things like food and water, and you didnt even get much of that. They slept outside with mother nature, the reason the African slaves are the most sought after for history and research is because of the movements they made durring slavery, and it was more accurate because it was being done in a time where many things were being recorded.

Even when the slaves were freed, the Irish were the ones to continue suffering. Even durring slave times, the Irish werent sent over to work, they were sent over to fight. The Jewish though are the ones that have been slaves the longest of all. And slave trade still goes on to this day, its called human trafficking, a show was made about it called Human Trafficking, it shows the modern day ways of slavery, and it is seriously sad.

I hate to say it but I know many Americans feel bad for slaves and apologize for what their ancestors did and try to make ammends, but the last thing we need in America is a bunch of people thinking about the past and bringing up how badly their ancestors were treated in the land of the free. Get over it, so many black people use that as an excuse to fuel their hatred and a reason for the way they act, such as all these gangsters and drug dealers. Many of them refuse to work in a way that resembles what their ancestors did in slavery.

Its really just stupid and uncalled for, yeah it sucks **** that slavery happened to all races of people, but seriously it happened so long ago and most of the people who are against slavery, I am by the way, are in it just a month out of the year, and they get at an extreme level of drama. Then once March comes around, what happens? Most people get something else to ***** about and turn their heads away from the issue they seemed so high and mighty on.

I know that many Africans were sent to America to become slaves and a lot of Americans look back and feel very bad for the slaves.

I saw a movie in history class called la amistad or something like that. It showed african americans selling their own people to slave owners. They shipped them out on big boats and when they realized they had too many slaves, they tied them all to a big chain with an anchor on the front and dropped it in the water and killed a whole bunch of them. It was crazy and made me realize african americans werent just slaves but slave owners too. They sold their own people. That is messed up

Can you be more specific? Are you speaking of the Atlantic Slave Trade (Africa to the Americas)? The British Slave Trade (Africa to Europe) ? Or the French Slave Trade (Africa, India and Latin America to America and Caribbean)?

What do you mean "was"? It's still very much around, particularly adult and child prostitution in eastern europe and asia,or child labor - so-called - which is definitely slavery when the kids are sold outright to a factory,as in the Phillipines.
