Last summer i lost my permit along with like $200.....sad,huh?well since i lost my permit, do I have to get another one just to get my driver's license?

Yes, since they'll ask for it when you go for the driving test. Just call your local DMV and tell them your wallet or purse was lost or stolen RECENTLY (like last week!!) and the approximate date of issue for your original permit and they'll probably issue a replacement. (Don't tell them you have been driving without it as that's patently illegal!)

Wouldn't you need to have your permit with you to take the test? You'll have a State Trooper in the car and no license on you. Seems like that would be an instant fail.
the DMV has you on record, so give them a call. They may issue you another permit. I'm curious though, what have you been using since last summer?? Have you been driving?
