What do you think for the costume of Bet in Oliver....skin colored hose, white hose, or black hose? Opaque or sheer? Fishnet? It's community theater - costume person says "wear whatever" - I want to wear what looks right! Dress is gray (like the gray on computer toolbars) with tiny burgundy and pink flowers and shoes are black lace up jazz boots. There may or may not be a dark purple shawl added to the costume. What type of hose did the london underground type use back then?

I first would ask some of the other women what they plan to wear, especially Nancy.

If I were costuming the show I'd put you in black stockings (or nothing, although that would be too risque for the time period). Hose wasn't invented yet. White would show the dirt and grime of the London streets too easily. Definitely not sheer or fishnets.
