I come from a culture where you are not allowed to date anyone from other races other than your own. Well I been with my Bf for a very long time now, he is the BEST thing thats ever happend to me in my whole life, recently my mum found out about him and so did my other relatives. Now the word is going around that Im a Sl*t and all sorts because appearntly I am with this boy. My mum said to me that NO MAN EVER sticks around, and what makes me think that he will stick around, and do I really think he will marry me. Well now my head is very confused, i LOVE my Bf with all my heart and he feels 100% the same we been through a lot of hard times together and HE'S THE LAST PERSON IN THIS WORLD I WOULD WANT TO LOSE.
Why is my mum being so cruel to me? And why does she care what people say? Why can't she see he's good to me? :'(

Well, you have to think about the way your mother was raised.
From what you've explained, it is a strong part of your culture to date within your race. You have to keep in mind that your mother's small-minded comments are due to ignorance. She just doesn't know anything other than what her parents taught HER.. So, she is passing this ignorance to you.
You have to be the one to break the mold and educate your family about the way YOU choose to live your life. If you love this man, live as an example by making your relationship stronger.
Let them see that race is irrelevant. Pretty soon, your mother will learn to deal with the situation. Hopefully, she will do that rather than risk you hating her forever.
Just be patient and respectful to her. She'll come around.

Sweetie color does not matter, I was raised like that and now and as I aged I seen as much as I loved my family THEY were wrong, I am white, only married white, NOT CAUSE OF COLOR but personal preferences. I adopted a little Bi racial boy I LOVE HIM TO DEATH he met a girl from Haiti and I love her to death. YOU ARE NOT A SLUT. some people only see color and I PRAY you raise your children to be a little more kinder hearted.
My daughter is in Spokane Wash, she loves where she is for her kids are exposed to all colors and sexual preferences, she wants them to know there is more out there than BLACK AND WHITE..... I do not know your age. BUT PLEASE look at the person and his heart not his color or you will miss a lot in life. Your mom feeling that way has maybe missed some great friends in life, but it is her loss

You have to think and decide for yourself now,let no one put you down not even mum,she has no way of knowing how things will turn out for you and your b/f,I would stick with him no matter what if he treats you decent and you enjoy his company.If is your life to live,live the way you want.Be happy that is what counts not what others think.

Your mom must have had some bad experiences with men.
It's not right for your family to insult you and call you horrible names.
Just hang in there...you won't live there forever.

that is how she was raised, and alot of them don't agree with what goes on now, time has change, and they just won't accept it. but if you are happy with him, don't let them get to you. you are old enough to make your own decision and mistakes that is a part of life. be happy. good luck.
