Rotten Smell in Car??

I went into my car this afternoon, and it has a horrible smell in it like either something crawled in it and died, or a spoiled milk smell thats been locked up in my car sitting in the heat.

I have no food items in my car.. what could it be??

could the carpet have gotten wet earlier and now it is mildewing?

If not under the seats, I know this sounds crazy but I had this happen to me. Look under the car near the radiator. I had ran over a bird and thought nothing of it until my cars started to smell and we couldn't find it then i followed the smell and the bird was still stuck up under my car rotting.
