I was walking to my school to get to class, and at the front of my school I see my ex-boyfriend(we are really good friends now. he still has some feelings for me). Anyways. So my ex, who has already graduated, is standing in all black outside of my school, and he's crying. When I see him, I run to him and hug him, But when I hug him, I have to stoop down to hug him, even though he is taller than me. After I'm done hugging him, he walks away, and as I watch him walk away, he looks back at me, still crying. Then he disappears into the crowd.

Then I start walking to my first class, and I try to find the guy that I currently like, completely forgetting about the situation with my ex boyfriend. Then I wake up......

Since you know your 'ex' has feelings for you, the dream is rather straight-forward.

The 'ex' in the dream is a mixture of his feelings for you (crying) and your feelings for him (shrinking and getting smaller.) You hug him because you have 'accepted' the place he has in your life, even if he hasn't, and that place is 'smaller' now since you have moved on. This is shown by him 'disappearing' in the crowd and you turning your attention to the guy you 'currently' like.

In other words, you are moving on with your life.

Not sure if you are still in school. My guess is yes.

The reason you have the dream is because your subconsciouis mind is telling you that you may have some sort of guilt conscience residing in you.

It may be a fact that he's your EX. But for some reason, you regret the separation or break up. You went to hug him in the dream. Basically, that projection is your feeling towards your action after break up. Deep down, you still love him, but due to the fact that you can't be together. You vent this helpless and guilt conscience in dream.

And because you still have some sort of relationship now. You somehow are conflicting your feeling toward your current love. In other words, you are still unable to leave your old love behind you..

This is an encounter between your Self and your Shadow (an older, less developed form of your Self-- see C.G. Jung). Your Self is attempting to integrate your Shadow with compassion, but your Shadow is conflicted by the developmental gap between itself and your Self.

i have always heard that it is not the dream itself, but how you feel in the dream. as a guess it would seem to me that you are moving on from your old bf. I do not put a lot of faith in dream interpretation though.

You are grieving the loss of your first bf. It is a natural process of moving on.
