You should grow them in a light soil-not clay!

Also, each "seed" is actually a capsule containing several seeds. So you can thin them when they're seedlings. I have great luck merely transplanting them (very carefully and gently) to get even more beets for the buck.

PLant out as soon as the frost is out of the ground don't wait till the soil warms up
