It could be...the crappy thing about babies is they cant tell you the problem so you have to try just about everything. You can try to change his formula, they make a kind for gassy and fussy babies....i cant think of the maker, im sure if you look on the net you will find one. Good luck

Mylicon is a good medicine for gas in infants. The gas may be a normal part of the baby feeding. Make sure to try the obvious things first by burping the baby after feeding and not allowing it to swallow air by sucking on an empty bottle. Children are sometimes unable to digest certain sugars at certain ages like fructose (fruit sugar), sucrose (table sugar), lactose (milke sugar), and even galactose (the sugar in breastmilk). You should consult your physician about whether they think that could be the problem and if they advise switching to a formula that contains a different sugar than that found in Enfamil (sucrose).

The word for god on the lips of babies is Mother. God bless.

I'm in the same boat. Try these:

1. While laying on his back, gently pull the baby's knees to his chest and then back down again. Repeat 15 or 20 times.

2. Burp him frequently while feeding, and make him burp 2X instead of once. (Yes this takes more patience but it makes him feel better.)

3. Hold him upright after meals.

4. Rub his tummy in little circles just beneath his belly button.

5. I beleive Isomil makes a formula for gassy babies.

Of the drops I've tried, Mylicon works the best but none of them seem to work all that well.

My twins had a terrible time with gas in the beginning. I tried EVERYTHING. Then I found this stuff called, Gripe Water, it is all natural. The first time I used it I noticed a difference right away. I only had to use it for 2 weeks and then they had no more problems. Even the excessive spit up stopped. I had to hunt it down at a natural foods store, but it was well worth it. Hope that this will help!

It could be the formula!! Call your Pediatrician:) I didn't like the Mylicon drops either, they never worked for me. Try Gripe Water, it's all natural. My Husband swears by it. Make sure you get the alcohol free kind. You can find it at most whole foods stores. Good Luck!! It will get better:)

Before you change the formula, try the following

1. try gripewater - it works like magic
2. try changing to a different bottle like dr.brown's or avent which will not let your baby eat air and cause gas
3. try mylicon before every feeding
4. give your baby tummy time before every feeding so the gas is released.
5. Try massaging your baby's tummy around the navel in circular strokes both clockwise and anti-clockwise
6. Press your baby's legs against her tummmy like she is pedalling a cycle.
7.lift and press her legs up to her tummy and you should hear the sound of gas releasing.

Babies go through gas when they are really young and they will soon outgrow it. Hope your lil one feels better soon.

Do you mean colic? There are several signs:
Colic can start within two to four weeks after birth and may last for up to three months.
Baby cries loudly, often for two to three hours and can't be comforted.
Baby often cries at roughly the same time and usually once or twice a day.
Bowel pains.
Baby pulls his feet up under his body and clenches his fists.
Some babies' stomachs rumble severely and they produce a lot of gas.

You can try:
*Many children with colic calm down if they are rocked either in a cradle, a rocking chair or on your lap.
*Some children feel better if they are carried in a sling on your stomach - your body heat and movement may help.
*Some children feel comforted when wrapped in a blanket or held tightly.
*Gently massaging your baby's tummy may help, because this is where the large intestine lies. Massage in a circle, moving your hand from left to right. Massaging in this direction can ease pain by helping your baby to pass wind.
*Some parents find their baby is comforted by a car ride.
*A baby can sometimes be soothed with music or monotonous sounds. It may help to sing to your child, which has the additional effect of helping to calm you too!
*Burping your baby more often.

I have and always will swear by Gripe Water (non alcoholic). I helps the gas move along faster and tends to calm the baby. My suggestion is to burp the baby every 2 ounces, whether they like it or not, to help prevent gas build up. Good Luck!
(ps: just because you bottle feed doesnt make you a failure. Dont let ANYONE tell you that!!!)
