Think we're all getting a lit bit spoilt by so much opportunity to interact? For a fleeting second there I thought I was lonely. But then I realised I've got loads of friends and have only been alone for two hours. Between real life interaction, having my mobile on me always, sites like this and myspace and bebo... it's almost like I've forgotten to be on my own with my own thoughts. Even if I'm drawing I often have to listen to the radio in the background just so I'm still part of something bigger. My own music is too isolated. It's the middle of the night and here I am, seeking out more people to play with. Does anyone else feel like this? I think it's really interesting.

It's not spoiled, it's human instinct. Yes, there's times we want our privacy and solitude, but the need for human contact is exactly that, a human need. Even Tom Hanks had "Wison:" right? The need to share laughter, tears, anger, and hope. My wife cannot sleep unless she can feel me nearby, she needs to place a hand on me for the security and reassurance, as I do with her. There's nothing like seeing your little one come running to you to meet you at the door with open arms and with a big hug and smile. How many people do you know that live alone except for pets who constantly talk to them giving them human characterisics? Crazy? No, the need for companionship. The sectet of life? perhaps. Very good question.

Maybe you're at a time of your life where you need other people. Interaction with others is healthy and makes you a sociable person. Seeking out other people and shying away from being alone with your thoughts could however mean there is something you're trying to escape from i.e. things you don't want to think about when you're on your own. Also meditation and time alone puts you more in touch with yourself and too much interaction could mean you lose touch with the real-you. Maybe there should be a blance between both to restore your equilibrium?
