i mean, the justification of the war,the technology use,conduct of war,treatment of civilians,plans for withdrawl,leadership,media coverage,civilian responce..:/
the only thing i can firmly say that they have learned from the war is They learned that they must control the media, no truth can be allowed, the media (unlike the 60s-70s) has completely bowed to fascist pressure and is no more than a Governemnt mouthpeice.
explain fully to persuade me!

I really don't think so, we are in Iraq and that is a mirror of the Vietnam conflict. It just don't seem like America's leaders will ever learn right from wrong.

I see scant evidence of government control of the media.
The media seems to have more control over the government through the propaganda machine THEY control.
The number ONE lesson I learned from Vietnam is that war is a military operation and must be fought by the military.
Allowing Congress to manage a war will screw it up every time.
Second lesson came form the Government of North Vietnam.
They refused to follow the Geneva Conventions because, as they claimed, it was an illegal war.
For a war to be a legal war, they argued, our Congress must declare the war, just as they did for WW-I and WW-II.
Good point.
We must never go to war without a Declaration of War made by Congress and once we are in a war : Let the military fight it.
As you can see, we did not learn those lessons.

Obviously not, or the Democrats wouldn't have re-captured congress! They're the ones who lost Vietnam (trust me, I was there!) and the bastards won't be satisfied until they've lost this war too. They're already pulling the rug out from under our men (and women now too!) by trying to "de-fund" our troops who are fighting the Islamo-fascists in Iraq so we won't have to fight them here! That's the difference between this war and Vietnam. The Viet Cong had no desire to follow us home. They just wanted us off their turf. It's a totally different situation today. The main reason we haven't been hit since 9/11 is because it's easier for the Islamo-fascists who hate out guts to get into Iraq than it is to get into this country. Are we making it easier for them? Not really. Who would you rather face down, U.S. Marines who are armed and dangerous, or unarmed American civilians? Moreover, while it may sound callous, the "colateral damage" over there is Iraqi, over here it would be American. Over 3,000 American civilians were killed on 9/11. I say, enough already!

the democrats have learned from the vietnam war. They have learned, that if they play to the media, they can influence people.
What they did not learn, is that public displays against the war, such as rallies, enables and comforts the enemy.
When someone in charge of the military defeats you, and years later, tells you why you were defeated, you should listen.
------------
Interview with General Bui Tin, of the North Vietnamese Army, on why America lost the war:
" Those people (war protesters) represented the conscience of America. The conscience of America was part of its war-making capability, and we were turning that power in our favor. America lost because of its democracy; through dissent and protest it lost the ability to mobilize a will to win."
"Q: What else?
A: We had the impression that American commanders had their hands tied by political factors. Your generals could never deploy a maximum force for greatest military effect. "

How many lives were lost in vietnam in the last two years? That is how many lives were lost because of the war protests. The same is happening in Iraq. The war protesters are giving moral support to the enemy.

What lesson ? The only lesson that the American people should it learn was: "If you start something have the stomach to finish it. Well, I don't think, then that they have learn their lesson, specially the Democrats. War is not something that you are going to start and then just get out when you feel that is not worse it. Not if you want the respect of the world and friends...... and enemies.

When the Secretary of Defense during the Iraq War is the same SoD as in Vietnam, it's painfully clear we haven't learned a damn thing.

Obviously the left wing liberals haven't. they want to cut and run (and even give the enemy a withdrawl date). The libs don't want to win a war ever.

Yes - they've learned to keep doing what they feel is right, regardless of what the media chooses/ doesn't choose to show.
