Please give me six events and causes that led to the Spanish_American War. I want serious answers, not " a taco or a plate or rice and beans.." kind of answer. Real answers!

After damage had been done to United States-Spanish relations, the United States battleship Maine, anchored off Havana, exploded, killing 260 crewmembers. "Remember the Maine!" became the battle cry throughout the United States. Congress declared war on April 25, 1898.

for one thing, the explosion of the USS Maine
US blamed it on the Spanish, because the ship had been anchored in Cuba, though the case has never really been solved
