can anyone tell me the best seats to sit in at the theater.

It probably depends on the house...some houses have better acoustics in certain areas, while other houses will be designed well enough that that is not an issue.
However, for the overall best experience, I prefer somewhere in the center of the floor level; being too close to the stage can actually hinder the experience a bit, but once you are a ways back, the orchestra and stage and singers all blend together quite nicely. Enjoy the opera!

I am not mad about orchestra seats unless they are in the first 6 rows.
The opera seats should be roomy and comfortable and afford you some privacy for expressing emotion.
