I would stop watching because he is not good and the only reason people vote for him is because haward stern is telling people to vote for the worst singer.

AI has weathered other storms in the past and will weather this one as well. Clearly "America" is not voting for Sanjaya. Either Howard's creepy little groupies are voting for him to upset the competition or some other "conspiracy" is at work here. HOWEVER, I don't believe that if Sanjaya wins that would de facto be the end for AI. AI would go into damage control mode and come up with a new formula for establishing a winner. Maybe it would be weighted with the judges (Simon et al) and maybe they'd get a "veto" or something. But no way is this advertising revenue extravaganza going to get booted off the airwaves. They'll figure out a way to fix it.

I really believe it would be the end of American Idol. People will stop taking it seriously and unfortunately for those who really have talent, will lose the opportunity of being discovered.
I actually have not watched it this year, but I do hear that the young lady from Fort Meade and Melinda (?) will be the last two standing.
Can you imagine what the idol finalists are thinking about Sanjaya?

Idol as we know it will cease to exist. I think that the show will lose all of its credibility as a major player in talent scouting.
If he wins, there will be a major change in the rules, giving the judges some power similar to the process in 'Dancing with the Stars'.
Simon Cowell has said that he will quit the show if Sanjaya wins. If Simon goes, Idol dies.

Don't worry, he won't win because he's a joke now. He might get some other kind of work through being on the show but he will not win.
