We are in the same "boat" I'm here looking for the same answer and I'm 36 weeks and 3 days, lol. I was checked @ 35 weeks and was starting to efface and 1 to 1.5 cm dialated. I had lots of cramping, contractions, pressure, when she was done for a couple of days and even lost a bit of my mucus plug but I'm still here waiting. Yes, still it's a bit early but I'm already being induced on the 9th b/c my u/s on Monday revealed a baby too large for me. This is my 3rd pregnancy & baby and...same midwife and we know my body doesn't tolearate large babies well. I just want to go on my own...don't like being induced (I was with baby #2 also). I just today went to the drugstore and bought some evening primrose capsules and have used one by inserting into the vagina. This is okay with my midwife to help prepare cervix with dilation..it doesn't "induce" labor. So if you would like a little help with induction being made easier b/c of a softer cervix or possibly "eventually" get it soft enough to push labor on it's own....then try it. You might feel more comfortable asking your md/cnm (whichever you have) but I can't imagine they would be "against" it...when you have this history with inductions. Hope this helps. I will let you know if I get anything out of this if I go first :)

i am 37 weeks on friday and at my last appointment which was on monday i was dilated to 2-3 cm and 50% effaced. my doctor told me that i definitly wouldn't be going to my due date. i have alot of pressure and contractions too. i keep losing bits of my mucous plug. there really is no telling though when the real labor is going to start. every women and pregnancy is different. with my second daughter i dialated to 2 at 35 weeks and i ended up having her 6 days after her due date even though i had preterm labor twice. i hope that that's not the case this time lol. good luck and congrats.

I think you will be having the bub soon, sometimes after they have been fiddling around down there that can start the contractions, time the contractions if they are getting closer together and lasting longer or your waters break go to the hospital. Good luck:)

Congratulations? I don't see a question in there :) My wife had our third child 3 months ago. It took her 2 weeks. For some reason the doctor wanted to wait until 3 inches dialated before getting serious.

I was induced twice also. You can help move things along by squatting and holding the squat as long as you can until the pressure builds and you feel the urge to push which puts even more pressure on your cervix to help efface and dilate it. It can help move things along. Best of luck.

Yes with multiple births your ligaments are all stretched out and you will deliver earlier then your due date. As long as you have made it past 35 wks you are in a good state.
Read a story of a lady on her 7th pregnancy, 4th living and all sorts of weird stuff going on and 31 wks pregnant already started to efface!

I just had my 3rd child and i was dialated for a few weeks... Then they finally had to induce me... But your doctor checking you can actually put you into labor since you are starting to dialate.....

Same thing happened to me. you will have a day or two. And if sudden you should start to feel really bad back pain. Thats the sign to go see the doc again.

I would have to say... if you are feeling contractions... and they are getting closer together... I'd get to the hospital fast.... looks like your going to have an early baby!
