I have a hi-def, hdmi tv thats like 60 inches and I want a system that has HDMI and HD. I dont know which to get. I dont need that big of a hard drive, and I think free online and blue ray is cool. The problem is is that my dad wont let me play rated m games, which is pretty much the entire 360 Library (of good games). I dont like how the PS3 controller is just like PS2, but I think the console looks better and I like how the online is free, although I heard it sucks. Also, the only games coming out for it that i'd want is Rachet and Clank. I also want to wait until they announce which platform KH3 will come out for because that could make my decision ( I LOVE the series). Please help. Should I just give it time and wait?

Also, I have a Wii and all of my friends have 360s and I will definantly get Live. The problem is is that all of them play Gears of War (which I LOVE) and theres no chance my dad will let me play it.

Considering that the Elite is now more than PS3 (assuming you buy the seperate $200 HD DVD player), I find it rather amusing how quickly XBox fanboys stop using the "PS3 costs way too much" and the "You don't need an HDMI port, you can get the same video results with DVI and/or Component cables" argument.
Or now you can buy an "attachable" 120 GB hard drive from an exsiting 360 for $179 - which is hardly a deal, considering you can buy a Western Digital 400 GB external hard drive from Newegg.com for $150.
Both are great systems. The PS3 has wi-fi (big convenience for me, in not running a cable 70 feet from my office to living room). The Elite now has 60 more GB in storage.
You can argue HD DVD vs. Blu-Ray all day long and not get anywhere.
I think it all comes down to what YOU think has better games. The games make the system, as was proved with the PS2 vs. the XBox. The XBox was more versitile and more powerful, yet PS2 sales obliterated XBox sales.
The PS3 has yet to release a large catalog of games, so it's too early to tell which has better games. The only difference I'm sure of though, is that Sony made sure this time to not have a weaker system.
When the PS2 and XBox were in their early stages, the graphics were about equal. But as time went by, the XBox games were visually better because developers learned how to maximize the system's power. This time I think we'll see the roles swapped in the next year or so.

We have a PS3 and our friend has an XBOX 360. Thet're both comparable for picture quality and HD movies. However the XBOX 360 doesn't have a DVD (you need to purchase it extra). Where as PS3 has it built in. We use ours for movies, music, photos, etc. We like both consoles, but prefer the games available for Playstations. We also play our old games on it as well.
Yes it may take a while for PS3 to come out with more games, and yes they're online needs work, but they are working on it - we get free console upgrades at least once a month.
I would suggest waiting for a PS3. We read up about both and decided on the PS3. Hope this helps!

My husband and I are pondering this same question! He just sold his 360 along with all his games, and he's debating whether or not to get the PS3 or wait for the Elite to come out. I think waiting for the Elite to come out will give you better reviews. If you have more feedback from people actually using it (rather than just predictions and what the releasers think will happen) then you'll have a better chance to compare the two. I believe that's what we're going to do. Just stick it out. Until then, play games online (i.e. yahoo games!) :p

well if you dont need a big hard drive i dont see why you sould spend money on the elite360, if your dad doesnt let you play M rated games i would definitly choose the ps3 (all the good xbox games are rated M) and plus all your friends have an xbox, so get the ps3 and show them your supiorior bluray capabilitys. i personally like the xbox because of the big hard drive and they dont have halo on playstation (and halo is the god of games) but halo is rated m so you cant play it anyways. and you have to buy an extra hd dvd player if you want to watch hd dvds on the xbox (your games are still hd though) but i really like that racing game on ps3, i have no idea what its called though, the bad things about ps3 is that their controllers suck and have no rumble feature (i turn if off on my xbox anyways) but still a bummer,

If you really want to use your HD tv to its full potenitial then the ps3 is your best choice b/c it can support 1080p....both of these systems have alot of M rated games have you thought about the Wii they have alot of games for teens i personally don't like them but if your not aloud to play M games then that might actully be your best choice....but yes in the end you should give it time and wait to see when your fav. game comes out and then make your choice.....ohh and the ps3 online does not suck trust me dont' believe all the lies you hear about it...i love it

i would choose the 360 because the ps3 is too expensive. ur right the xbox live is too expensive but if you get the least expensive one like three month and work up it is way better.if ur really lucky u might get a month free. they are also making good games for the 360.there is also a hdtv wire to have hd on ur game.

ps3, the games and movies are going to be excellent. the ps2 games are on dvd which holds about 4.5-9GB of data, but the new blu ray discs are going to hold somethink like 40-90GB! the diffrence is going to be awsome!
