My friend is in a relationship he rather not be in but can't bring himself to break up with the girl no matter how much we try to tell him it's okay and no one's going to say he's a jerk but her.....is there some spell or chant to help him out.......we've talked to him but he's just too scared and shy to break up with her!

No, there's no such thing. We don't use spells/magick/energy work to easily do what we can't do face to face.
Maybe he doesn't want to break up with her - too scared? Too shy? To much wanting/needing something the relationship gives him? Instead, try being supportive of your friend, no matter what his decision is.

In other words, there is usually more than one way to accomplish something within the realm of magick.
How about doing a spell to increase your friend's confidence and self-esteem? Doing such a spell is not working to break up the relationship, but an increase in self-confidence could make him realize that he deserves a better relationship than the one he has now. Thus, the impetous for the break-up would originate within himself, and not be an act of interference on your part.
Or, you could do a sideways 'attraction' spell for his partner. You could do a spell to magickally raise her attraction, so that someone 'better' for her enters her life. Not only are you doing a double good (getting your friend out of the relationship, while making her happy) but you aren't going to incur any 'karma' (necessarily) for it because you are 'helping' someone, not hurting them.
Honey is always preferred to vinegar, not only in catching flies but casting spells as well.

Creating "magic spells" for other people influences their natural freedom of choice to make their own decisions in their own timing. Undue influence such as this, will only end up coming back to you threefold, so ask yourself this: if you put out a spell to have someone break off their relationshionship when they aren't ready, and one day you are in one and not ready to break up, how are you going to bear that pain when it is returned to you 3 times as much as just breaking it off when you are ready?? That sounds to me like you would have to live with a lot more conflict than you would have to, everyone's timing with experiencing events in their life is different. If want the BEST for him, send him some GOOD magic- light a white candle charged with rose oil and ask that he be happy and free from pain...

Sorry, but that's called black magic.
Black magic is against Christianity and involves the work of satan and you together. This attracts bad spirits.
Just invite him over and make a pretend spell, to make him think he's under one, giving him the confidence to do it, so he thinks naturally that there's a spell on him and noone will get mad!
See? You don't have to davel in the arts of dark magic!
