I purchased a minipocket bike, (the X-18) 5, (count them, 5) months ago, and was able to ride it one, (1) time. Since then it hasnt started. i contacted the tech support service immediately. i was sent an ignition coil which still didnt get it started. i returned it and was sent a starter relay, which didnt help either. Since then I haven't been able to reach them. i've called repeatedly to let them know it's still not working. i sent them emails and all they do is tell me to call their toll free hotline. They even have the nerve to tell me someone will be contacting me about my issue. When i do call, there's just a recording. i have tried leaving messages and still nothing. This purchase was $658 dollars and the outcome is that i road this thing one time!!! i'm pretty pissed w/ these people!! i tried kick starting, buying a new spark plug and charging the battery. i dont know what else to do! can someone please help w/ some suggestions?? Greatly appreciated!
Marcus

all you can do is drain the oil & fuel.....attach a piece of chain....& use it as an expensive boat anchor....

I work on a lot of these bikes and they let themselves down with their electrics, your problem sounds rather typical, first you must check if there is spark, remove the plug and with it connected to the cap turn bike over with key on and kill switch on, if there is no spark then check for loose wires on coil, CDI, and coming up from the engine stator. if no problem found then you could have a crook stator, which is not unusual for these.
If however you have spark then you should check fuel, is there any and is it coming through the tap and line and to the carb
look at your plug and if it is dry then you have a fuel problem
You haven't said if it is a 2 stroke or a 4 stroke, if it is a 4 stroke then check your tappet settings too, I am in NewZealand so i don't know if i can be of any further assistance to you but what i have told you should get you some were along the way to solving the problem
Just all ways remember you get what you pay for and even if it don't go you got your moneys worth of parts,These days it seems to be BUYER BEWARE!

Hello, I work for a company that imports similar bikes from china. First step, do you have spark? No, unplug or cut wire to kill switch and try. Determine if you have spark by removing the spark plug and letting it rest against the engine, or grounding it with a wire to engine, then crank over the bike and watch for spark. Darker areas are better for this step sometimes. If there is still no spark it could be your Ignition switch (Key Switch) or faulty replacement parts sent to you. There could also be plastic shavings in your gas tank clogging the nipple at the bottom of the tank. Check that lines are clear if you drain gas.
Over all BEWARE of anything with a label MADE IN CHINA.
It costs lots to have parts shipped to USA and most parts come with the containers of bikes. This means if the bikes have a problem and parts aren't on hand you will wait 6 wks or more for them to order parts to be included in their container of bikes if they bother to order them at all.
If you need more help feel free to email me.
Good luck.
p.s. Don't forget there is the Better Business Bureau and the attorney's general to report them to. Keep documentation of calls etc...

ha, i bought my x18 from minipocketrockets.com I've had it for a few months now too and mine runs great, although it didn't always...start here the ignition where you put the key in slide out sometimes...simply try and push it back up with your finger, and then turn the key to the 'on' position you should see in the blue LED area what gear your currently in, if your blinker is on, and if your head light is on.... a ton of people make this mistake also...you have to put the fuse in before anything will work...the bike should of came with a tool kit and two extra fuses...one of the fuses should go into the bike, on the left hand side under the handle bar will be a black knob that says 'fuse' un screw it and slide the fuse onto the cap your holding and screw it back in. i hope that isn't it cuz if it is i mean cmon buddy...but if it is at least thats all thats wrong with it...if that aint it i got a couple more things your could try...email me at mmaglioc@bridgeport.edu when you read this... my name is mike

You're going to love this .... take the thing to a small engine repair shop. Look in the phone book for some place that repairs lawn mowers, generators, that kind of stuff.
From what your saying I'll bet on a bad mag or maybe a clogged fuel line.

I don't think any motorcycle repair shop will bother with it. The carb probably needs to be cleaned. Remove the jets from the carb and hold them up to the light. You should be able to see through them. Change the gas while you're at it.
When you give up, bring it to a small engine repair shop (lawn mower).
Try this, ask a friend or relative that doesn't live with you call the company. The company is probably fed up with trying to help you.

Put gas in it. It probably all evaporated from the shot glass sized fuel tank.
