It really depends on the person and their age. Since people mature at different rates, sometimes years of existence isn't the greatest contributing factor. And as people get older the gap starts to seem smaller.

It's a safe bet that the old rules don't always apply.

As long as both are legal adults then it's okay. My interest is in the individual. I've dated lots of women and some have been about 5 years older than me at one time i was 22 dating a 45 year old and when i was 20 i dated a 28 year old.

I have noticed that girls who have fathers that abandoned them in their youth or come from single mom families prefer to date much older men. I knew two women in their late 20's who dated men in their 40's and 50's. I am 35 and my wife is 41.

The relationship can work out i mean there maybe some generation gapping issues that can come up one wants to go clubbing the other wants to stay home, one likes classic rock the other likes electronica, etc. Plus having it become long term may bring up new issues like what if you want to have kids (women who have children in their 40's run a risk of the child having Downs), financial needs, etc.

When i was 31 i started seeing a woman who was 45 she had 2 teenaged kids one adult child i had 2 kids via a previous marriage her kids liked me but we knew that at that time in our lives a serious relationship wouldn't work out and eventually you'll find less and less people available for dating and more and more of your peers being married.

weigh all options

No problem. My bf is 6 years older than I am. When I was a little younger I dated a guy that was 9 yrs older than me.

It really depends on the people and the situation. I wouldn't trust a 27 yr old man trying to date a 17 yr old girl. It would probably be a relationship based on power and abuse.

If its like a 19 year old girl and 17 yr old boy...maybe.

26 year old woman with a 18 yr old guy...I don't know.

i think it can be disgusting becuse if u think about it when the person was younger like in 10th grade then that person would be dating a 1st grader which really seems wrong but i guess once u get older it dosnt matter if they r in love!!!!!

7 to 10 is not so bad. But, what Anna N. Smith did was just sick. That's like marrying a great grand father!

Its okay - the key point in the relationship is how connected they are - shared similar interests, ideals. etc... as the saying goes opposites may attract but its birds of feather that end up flocking together

depends on how old the "people" are? A 30 year old dating a 37-40 year old is acceptable.....a 16 year old dating a 23-26 year old....not acceptable....not even legal really.

It's cool as long as the younger of the two is of legal age.

A 23 year old dating a 13 year old is gross.
