My mom threw me a baby shower when I was seven months pregnant. She send out the invites and we had 13 rsvps including my best friend. The day of the shower no one showed up. I was devastated and humiliated. About a couple of months later I found out from a co worker that my friend was expecting. She didn't have the nerve to tell me herself. Later on during her pregnancy I get a shower invite and an itemized list of the things she has on her registry. I thought it was extremely rude. She didn't care enough to come to my shower or apologize. She didn't think of me to call when she found out she was pregnant, and then she basically tells me that she wants a gift. How should I feel about this. We had been friends since kindergarten.

i think that I thought of her as my best friend, but the feeling wasn't mutual. I didn't deserve what they did to me, but I did deserve an explanation. I have always been there for my friends. the few that I have. I go out of my way to please others and i think she was just using my friendship. guess you never know who your true friends are until you need them

Screw that! dont go to it and dont get her a gift..it sounds like she just wants the gift.....i mean..who doesnt even tell you shes pregnant then invites you to bring a present...blah thats dumb and if you go or buy a gift, your just wasting your money! and might be emberssed when she doesnt talk to you at the shower...how rude is she

Sorry to hear about your baby shower! I have one coming up soon, and im afraid no one will show up! Anyway, i think it is really rude what your friend did, and i know, personally, i would hold a grudge only because it was very disrespectful! If i were you, i would not go or give her anything...i know its better to be the bigger person, but you need to realize the difference between good and bad friends, and why are you gonna be there for someone who isnt even there for you?
Im having problems with my best friend constantly flaking out on me, and i have a feeling she will miss my baby shower and if she does, then im not going to waste my time with her anymore.

Why would you want a friend like this. I say don't go to her baby shower. Don't RSVP, don't get her a gift and find some other friends who will truely care about you.
I can't say why she did all that. Some people turn really quickly and without explanation.. Don't worry about her. She doesn't deserve to be your friend

That is sad. U should be hurt.Do u miss your friendship with her or do u care. that is how u find out if u need bother anymore if u miss her then u need to discuss everything your feelings and how sad u have been.But it sounds like those friends really didnt have your best interest at heart.Bless your heart

You just need to re-evaluate what you consider friends I think... (apparently your standards are pretty low)
Dont confuse mere aquaintances with friends.. they arent one and the same...
