I have a 1967 BSA A50 that needs transmission work. Unfortunately, I know nothing about unit twins transmissions and I need a mechanic. I live in Indianapolis, and would love to get a great mechanic that can do old school work on my 4 vintage bikes.

Sorry, I don't know, but, I'd wager that if you go into yahoo groups and do a search for Triumph or BSA you'll find a number of groups dedicated to those machines. There are probably more active owners and part vendors and parts now than when the British machines were in their heyday.

First, get a manual, 2, get some BSE Wentworth tools. They are not that difficult, except for the Lucas electrics.

Actually, I worked on them for years.
With a good shop manual (Clymer, Haynes), you could probably get through it yourself.
