No one knows for sure what they’d do or how they’d react until they’re actually in that situation. It’s easy for someone to say “I’d forgive him and work it out” or “I’d dump him”. You just don’t know how you’d feel until it happens to you.

My ex cheated on me and as you can imagine I was really angry. I also had a lot of other feelings that I didn’t expect to have. Just looking at his face made me feel psychically sick and any feelings of love I had for him disappeared. All I knew was I didn’t want him in any part of my life, so I dumped him. Some liars and cheats might change, but is that enough to make you happy (it wasn’t for me). If you don’t have trust in a relationship, then what's the point.

Absolutely.

Everyday lies are really part of the fabric of social life.

While some lies damage relationships and destroy trust, other lies (fibs ) fulfill important interpersonal functions, like smoothing over awkward situations or protecting fragile egos.

Some people lie to protect an innocent person from harm.

This same person may not repeat the lie.

Cheating is a very strong word. Sometimes in life "sh--" happens. Not all cheaters "cheat" for selfish reasons. Some people are compelled to cheat to preserve their sanity, or to protect their family from pain or hurt ...of truth.

Not without some serious personality over-hauling. History is the best indicator of the future. Cheaters cheat.

I would not trust anyone who cheated on me. If they did it once then they will do it again. They are like the men who are physically abusive to women, if they hit you once they will hit you again.

I do think people can stop lying about big things. Once they learn it is way too hard to keep up with their lies, they will realize it is much easier to just tell the truth. Little white lies are okay.

Honestly I think once a cheater always a cheater. BUT, if a person is really willing to change and shows that they have changed, anything is possible. People never cease to surprise me.

Not entirely. A behavior is not easily forgotten or removed from a person's character
