I'm 12 years old, and I've just recently skipped a grade... well 1quarter of 6th grade and 3 quarters of 7th grade, but I think that if I studied online all the 8th grade classes, then I would be successful my freshman year. The age difference hasn't bothered me, like most poeople have said it would. I would like to be a graduate from harvard medical school in surgery, somewhere in the future because it just fasinates me. My own dad doesn't believe in me, but my mom was so happy about it, she took me to olive garden, the movies, and bought me and my sister expensive clothes from the mall. I'm not a greedy person, I'm just proud that I've held my head up high when nobody saw it in me. My IQ is 150, and my teachers say they are amazed by my learning ability. I want to skip a grade again, but what do I do? HeLp!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!URGENT

First of all, this question may be many things, but it's not "URGENT" :-)

Talk to your mom, your teachers, the counselors etc... if you've skipped one grade already, then everyone involved should have a pretty good idea of what's needed already. I do think there's a lot to be said for socializing with people your own age, though... and this is coming from someone who skipped a grade and was a year younger than his peers throughout most of school.

Life is not a race, and you don't need to skip grades in order to get into a great medical school. Unless you're bored stiff because your classes are so easy, you should probably stick with your current grade level - and if you *are* bored stiff, there are usually less drastic ways for the school and the teachers to keep you challenged.

Good luck, sounds like you have a lot of things going for you.

Well from my experience an IQ of 150 and an age difference of about of year isn't tat big of a deal, but whatever. What matters is that you have your heart in it, which you seem to.
I agree, take it easy. I know for a fact that you will miss some important info, if not a lot of infom by skipping a grade. Just concentrate on everything you can learn now, and figure out what highschool you can go to that will have the best programs relating to wht you wanna know, I guess science and maybe math in your case. If you really want to, you can do studying outside the classroom as well, but remember, you neeed a good foundation to build on, so don't skip over things too quickly, even if you think you know it... and don't forget, make social time. There is nothing more helpful in life than good social skills and good FRIENDS.

Take your time. College is very serious, especially Harvard. Take the time you have to look at your options a little further. Colleges aren't looking at the time it took you to get out of high school. They're looking at your G.P.A., in-school/ out-of-school activities, writing ability, and ACT/SAT test scores. With your potential, I would say build on your skills. By the way, look at the University of Pennsylvania. It's an Ivy League school that focusses on the medical field. Who knows, you may want to become a biomedical engineer.

It sounds like your mom is your nearest ally, so ask her to help you talk to your HS counselor. (if your current counselor isn't in favor) Do you have a gifted program in your district? Get with them. They should be helping you. If not have mom talk with the district office or superintendent.
Download your state standards or if you aren't in US search for practice sites for whatever standardized tests you have and practice. If you are already so advanced, you may be able to pass out of some classes or begin college classes.
There are always people telling gifted kids not to try and skip grades, but I think you should follow your heart/brain!

Stop skipping grades ... you're missing out on the greatest years of your life. If you blow past high school, you'll never experience the thrill of experimental drug use, binge drinking and premarital sex.
