Three weeks ago I signed a long term contract with a very popular designer that is going to use me and 2 other models in all there magazine ads. I met the two other models last week that I'll be working with & we hit it off really good. I went out with 1 of the girls last night for dinner & she told me that she has an eating disorder & has had one for years. She also told me that she is only 17 years old but her manager told her to tell everyone that she was 18 years old so she could model for this designer. Not only that but she dropped out of high school so she could model. She's not turning 18 years old for another 5 months. When I asked her what her parents thought about all this, she told me that they were the ones that helped her to leave school and that they know about her eating disorder but don't say anything about it. If I tell the designer label, I know they'll fire her. Should I keep this to myself? This girl has a lot to lose if they fire her but I'm really concerned 4 her.

This could be her only shot at her dream. Sounds like her parents aren't very good for her. Let her have her shot and stay clear of it.

Try to get her help for her eating disorder, but don't tell about how she's seventeen. It sounds as if she has a sucky life already, and modeling is her only dream. How bad would her life be if she didn't get to do her job? Her eating disorder would probably get any worse. And she'll be 18 in only 5 months. Good luck!

Maybe I'm crazy, but in 5 mos. she'll be 18! I mean, really...I wouldn't squeal on her for the age thing. The eating disorder is serious, but our modeling world would go 'belly up' (no pun intended), if eating disorders were ruled out. It's quite the norm...you'll find out.

She confided in you! Don't be so quick to judge!

Don't blow the whistle on her. Just curious...are you possibly a little jealous of her? It sounds a little that way!

You could contribute to serious depression for her and that could lead to more than an eating disorder. Keep out of this.

I under stand you are concerned about her but what do you think it will do to her if you destroy her dream.Don't do that to her you will hate yourself and wonder for years what happened to her. What would you do if you did tell on her and the next day you were told that she killed herself .Could you live with yourself knowing you were the one who did this to her.It is her life to do with it what she pleases. You are not her mother or a friend if you do this.
